TEVIOTDALE

Set atop a dramatic perch that overlooks a steep cliff, this family home enjoys a mix of native gardens and unique sea views.

The brief was to design each interior space with crisp, yet sparing architectural embellishments, punctuated by periodic hits of saturated colour and audacious textural relationships that create an environment filled comfort for this family of four.

In this architecturally designed house, we used colour to interact with the cool tones of both the concrete floor and tiled space along the bedroom wing. The use of brighter tones of yellows, blues and pinks juxtapose the warmth of the gaboon ply used throughout the living and open plan kitchen space. These coloured tones whilst accentuating the furniture, also resonate with the panoramic sea views. Pendant lighting was customed coated to match the kitchen windows and bar stools. We kept furniture in neutral shades providing a calm backdrop to the fragments of colour.
