RAPLEY

This Central Otago holiday home draws upon its extraordinary views nestled amongst the mature leafy greens that surround the dwelling.

This project involved an alteration and addition to an existing house architecturally designed in the 1990s. To accommodate a growing family an additional loft space was added to provide a master bedroom, walk in robe and ensuite. The space was designed to flow seamlessly with the existing palette of the home. Furniture and soft furnishing were chosen with a nod to its surroundings encompassing deep greens, earthy browns and slate greys in turn echoing the schist in the present stone fireplace.

The ensuite demonstrates a neutral palette of white and terracotta which was applied throughout the bathroom space giving a sense of cohesiveness and fluidity whilst bathed in natural light due to the proximity of an elongated window positioned to take in the remarkable mountain views.
